Wouldn’t it be fun if you could swing by for a spring garden tour on our new farm?
Instead of a live spring garden tour…
We actually did have friends stop by today to check out our new place, but a live tour is probably unlikely for most of my readers.
Which is why we made a quick video for you! It’s the next best thing to visiting our new garden in person.
Here’s what you’ll see on our spring garden tour:
- green onions
- minutina – this is the one whose name I forgot in the video!
- buttercrunch lettuce
- panisse lettuce
- cherry belle radishes
- d’avignon radishes
- napoli carrots
- scarlet nantes carrots
- green beans (bush)
- tomatoes – many varieties
- peppers – many varieties
…and my two oldest boys and our two dogs! And the *lovely* electric netting protecting the garden until we can figure out a permanent fencing solution.
Way down yonder in the sweet potato patch
We also planted a separate patch of sweet potatoes and paste tomatoes, but it’s not included in today’s video. Maybe we’ll do another video about the making of that patch…it’s looking pretty awesome after all the rain we’ve had lately!
Spring garden, round two
I have high hopes of planting more edibles…
- and more carrots!
…but our project list continues to grow and we’re already well into the month of June, so it’s basically a race against the clock at this point.
It’s fun to start from scratch with completely new gardens, but it’s also a LOT of work! For now, I’m just happy to have gotten a smallish garden in, and to have edible things growing and gracing our table.
Oh, and did I mention that we have a mature and fruiting peach tree on our new property? We’re all pretty excited about that, and are eager to plant additional fruit trees this year.
Spring is a time of new beginnings, and especially this year for us on our new farm! Come along and join us on this spring garden tour…
