When I mentioned “coconut (w)rap” to my brother, he misunderstood.

Enjoy all you like, without gluten guilt!
Um, that’s WRAP. With a “W.”
Such a funny guy.
Now, on to the wraps with a W…
How in the world will we live without bread?
This is a question I pondered at the beginning of our GF journey. It’s also a question we field frequently.
For starters, yes, it is possible to live without bread. Hard, maybe, (especially at the beginning), but possible.
Secondly, there ARE some great gluten-free breads out there. There aren’t many, but they do exist. Note: many GF breads are loaded with ingredients I wouldn’t recommend. We do have a favorite brand of GF bread products, which I’ll blog about soon.
Thirdly, there is another great option, even for the grain-free crowd! Have you heard of Pure Wraps? Here’s some info from the Improveat website:
*The Bread or Tortilla Alternative
*Non-GMO project verified/non-GMO package
*Contains NO Gluten, Dairy, Egg, Soy or Corn
*Raw, Vegan & Alkaline
*Convenient for Work, School and Travel
*DO NOT Freeze; Does not require refrigeration
And the ingredients:
Coconut Meat, Coconut Water and Himalayan Salt-Yes that is it. (We promise no other ingredients are added!)
We love these at the Yankee Homestead! We prefer the Original Flavor, although I did once order 12 packs of the Curry Flavor by accident, and they were fine. (See picture above).
We use them for sandwich wraps and burritos. I’ve heard they make great ice cream sandwiches, too. And they’re made from coconut, which is so good for you!
The best price I’ve found is to buy directly from the Improveat website, ordering 12 packs at a time to get free shipping. Local folks can also find them at the Natural Mercantile (and maybe elsewhere, too?).
Update: Now available on Amazon!
