Putting away Christmas decorations always makes me sad. Everything seems so bare and cold.
It makes me want to…DECORATE!
Fall is such a busy time around here. Actually, so are spring and summer. In spring, we’re rushing to prepare and then plant the vegetable garden and perform spring clean-up of the flower beds. We also celebrate Little Brother’s birthday. Summer brings lots of yard work and garden maintenance. Late summer and early fall mean Older Brother’s birthday, and harvest time! The Vitamix and veggie chopper seem to run nonstop as tomatoes, peppers, squash and the like pour in from the garden. We spend lots of time playing outside and going for walks during September and October. Then, we’re catapulted into the holiday season: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas.
Then it’s all over, WHEW, and we rest for a bit.
I don’t rest well. My husband claims I have two speeds: “on” and “off.” (He, on the other hand, is an avid rester).
So, I decorate! (And I organize, but I’ll save those posts for another time). I’m cookin’ up a few “decorate with junk” projects at this very moment, and can’t wait to share the final results. Except there are no final results yet, so I’ll show you some sneak peeks of a few projects in-progress.
